Pokemon

In honor of Pokemon profile picture month I shall give mini reviews of different Pokemon things, from the original sets.  The first 151 Pokemon, then plus Togepi in the end of the 1st season are the true Pokemon. They started the trend, Pokemon started out as a game, red and blue version then became a series, a card game, plushies, marbles, little figurines, movies, more games and more seasons. Pokemon is still flourishing with well over 300… they may even be past the 500 mark, I am not fully sure I haven’t kept up with it but they newer ones are not important to this.
The games Satoshi Tajiru in 1996, you play as a young boy (only had one choice of gender at this time) who is going off to be a Pokemon monster leaving his hometown for the first time ever. Just like Ash does in the series, which is what Ash is based off of. You receive your first Pokemon from Professor Oak, the three starter are always the same in the first few game (except Yellow which is modeled off the series and leaves you with no choices except Pikachu). The starters are Bulbasuar, Charmander, ad Squirtle. You travel through the Indigo area collecting wild Pokemon, leveling them up and beating Gym leaders for badges. Only the best of the best could call themselves Pokemon masters.  These games, (red, yellow, blue) I give a 8 out of 10, they are a bit outdated now but still fun to play.
The series we follow a young boy, like the games except you are not controlling him, Ash or Satoshi in Japan, as he works hard to be a Pokemon master. Going against his Rival Gray Oak, yes Professor Oak’s grandson. He makes friends along the way, his first Pokemon Pikachu who in the start hated him and would shock him whenever possible, he even refused to go into his pokeball, even now you never see Pikachu in a pokeball. He meets Misty/Kasumi, and Brock, who follow him through the first season helping him along the way. Misty claims it is only because he owes her a new bike after he destroyed hers in a freak accident involving Pikachu’s thunderbolt in a rain storm as they ran from sparrows. Brock is there to help them and so he can become a better gym leader.
Misty is the co-leader, the main leader more like of the cyrulean(water based pokemon) gym with her three older sisters, the sisters would rather put on shows and dress pretty then battle so Misty is normally in charge of the battles when she is home. Brock is the leader at the Pewter(rock based pokemon) city gym, his father had abandoned him and his unnumbered siblings, I think it was around 10.. maybe more….. to many no matter what number it is. He would be in charge of battles and caring for his siblings. Luckily Brock’s dead beat father came back and took over the jobs of the gym and caretaker letting Brock travel with Ash and Misty.
The Series is still ongoing, Brock still traveling on and off with Ash, Misty though is at her gym most of the time only making guest appearances. :[ I do not like the new seasons, but the original pokemon series gets a 9 out of 10.
Last but not least the cards, not much to say about them you can either fight with them, I never understood the fighting or you can collect them, 1st generation cards will be worth a lot one day, keep that in mind before you think about trashing any. Card get a ….. no rating cause I don’t know how you would rate cards…..

Gotta Catch them All…. Pokemon <3
